Kitchen Ventilation
Double-Skin Kitchen Hoods: Until 2005, double-walled kitchen hoods were imported from abroad. However, as a result of our R&D Center efforts, DOGU HVAC became the first in the industry to produce them. This innovative product has led the sector in Turkey by emphasizing energy savings in kitchen ventilation. At that time, the Ansys Fluent software, which was not even used by major firms in the industry, was developed through a university-industry collaboration with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Ege University.
Industry Leadership and Innovations: DOGU HVAC is known as the company that conducts the most work in kitchen ventilation. Our R&D Center studies have been shared at numerous national and international symposiums. Additionally, in 2013, we completed the TUBITAK TEYDEB project for the design of Air Curtain, Self-Cleaning, Energy-Saving Hoods (patent number 7110483), which developed the first kitchen ventilation selection program in the industry that calculates exhaust flow rate according to the VDI 2052 standard. This free program allows engineering design offices to select the most efficient kitchen hoods with optimal exhaust flow rates, integrating them into ideal kitchen ventilation projects. Designers using the program have eliminated millions of m³/h of exhaust air that could arise from miscalculations, thus preventing energy loss and achieving significant energy savings.
Automation and Hygiene: One of the innovative features of this project is the ability of industrial kitchen hoods to self-clean at regular intervals through an automated system. This system maximizes hygiene standards in the industry, eliminates fire risks, and provides high performance without increasing operational costs.
Resources and Training: DOGU HVAC has compiled its experiences into a booklet on Kitchen Ventilation. Updated every two years, this booklet serves as an important resource in the libraries of engineers working in the ventilation sector in Turkey. Additionally, the company shares its knowledge and experience by offering a Kitchen Ventilation Course at TESKON (the Installation Congress organized by Izmir MMO).
